My favorite project to create was proably the sgraffito. I liked this one the best becuase even though it took a lot of time and effort, it was relaxing and fun. I hope in the future I will be able to do sgraffito again.
One time I struggled was with the wheel throwing. I remember when I first started I could not do it without having either too little or too much water. There would be times when the clay would get too wet and fling into the splash pan or too dry it would crack off and bend into my hands. I was able to overcome the stuggles becuase after practice I was able to do one successful wheel throwing piece.
When I first walked into ceramics I knew how to scratch and attatch and how to make a pinch pots. Now I know how to do sgraffito, make a vase out of coils, I now know when clay is leather hard, bone dry, and some of the other stages of clay. I have done the coil and pinch pot projects before the school year but this time I was able to improve my skills. Overall, my experience with Ceramics was fun and I would reccomend it to friends and do it again.
